Pilates Classes Available at our clubs
Pilates was created in the 1920s by physical trainer Joseph Pilates. It contains about 500 exercises derived from calisthenics, yoga and ballet to improve on flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. One beauty of Pilates is that caters for everyone, from the beginner right up to the advanced. You perform exercises using your own body weight, or with the aid of various pieces of equipment. Pilates is ideal if you are looking at increasing tone and building long lean muscles without bulk, increasing joint range of motion, relieving back pain and restoring postural alignment. With Passport2Fitness we have many options available for you to slot a Pilates workout into your weekly regime. Just visit any of the clubs listed below to enjoy access to their state of the art Pilates studios. Flexibility, convenience, freedom and variety - Passport2Fitness is the only membership you'll ever need.
  • Breathing: The most important thing in Pilates to remember is breathing. Getting this right is the key to having a successful Pilates workout. Your Pilates instructor will help get your breathing right.
  • Accident or Injury: Pilates is a great way to help strengthen back muscles after an accident or injury. Even after a couple of Pilates session, you will start to see results.
  • Get your Pelvis In Line: Keep everything in the front lifting upward and everything in the back relaxing downward.
  • Pull your Shoulders Back and Down: Great for people who spend a lot of time in front of a computer.
  • Try them all out: Try different styles of Pilates, such as mat classes or reformer.
